Church of the Pines is proud to announce the expansion of our philosophical and spiritual lending library, the Frances D. Still Learning Center.  This library, open to the public, contains thousands of rare and new books, most not found in typical public libraries.  We also have  audio lectures, videos, and spiritual movies on DVD.  There is  a small section dedicated to the sale of books, postcards, and prints.

Our library is a memorial to Rev. Fran Still (April 2, 1943 - April 15, 2003.) She was an inspirational humanitarian in our community and beyond; founder of Church of the Pines; social worker, counselor, mediator, and a life long "student." Since a motto of hers was to "never stop learning," we hope that this memorial library is an inspiration to all those who are "Still Learning."  Fran was convinced that through an expanded awareness of our world and its varied cultures, beliefs, and ideas, a love for the brotherhood of humanity can flourish.  Another theme of Fran's life was to be a "bridge over troubled waters."  Thus, we also take care in selecting books that will inspire beauty and  hope in today's troubled world, whether that be through inspirational fiction, poetry, biography, or other non-fiction.  In addition, we find it very important to include books that can be a "bridge" toward personal or spiritual growth...seeking to extend Fran's work in those areas through the many resources available.

The Frances D. Still Learning Center is managed totally by volunteers. Most of our books have been donated or inherited from extensive home libraries, though we also purchase new items from time to time.
